The Solution

Redesigned the website with clear hierarchy, consistent layout, and intuitive navigation to reduce cognitive load.

Challenges and Constraints:

Creating a financial news website from scratch presented unique challenges, including:

  • Streamlined Navigation: A dynamic menu and breadcrumb system were introduced for ease of navigation.

  • Lack of Visual Hierarchy: Ensuring critical news and insights were prioritized for easy discovery.

  • Engagement Challenges: Designing intuitive calls to action to encourage user interactions, such as newsletter subscriptions and account sign-ups.

Research:

To develop a targeted and effective design, a thorough research process was implemented:

  • Tracking user behavior: with Hotjar's heatmaps and click analytics provided insights into user preferences and interaction patterns.

  • Competitive Benchmarking: Analysis of competitors' sites revealed best practices in news organization, visual hierarchy, and interactivity.

Design Strategy:

To maintain consistency and facilitate future updates, a solid design system was established:

  • Streamlined Navigation: A dynamic menu and breadcrumb system were introduced for ease of navigation.

  • Reusable Components: Designed modular elements, including news cards, charts, and interactive elements, ensuring efficiency and brand alignment.

  • Responsive Design: Optimized for both desktop and mobile views to cater to diverse user needs.
