Plantik is a unique App which provides the user a plant scanning system, that offers the user diagnosis and solutions for the plant's needs.
Plantik also provides a holistic experience for purchasing plants.

The Problem

Plants are not problem-free, Plants have issues and it can be difficult to identify them it is is even more difficult to find the right solution.

The Solution

​Plantik offers a smart scanning system to scan the plant in order to diagnose the plant's issues and get the right solution right on the spot.

Market Research

​I conducted a competitive analysis of plant's scanning applications,
in order ​to fully understand the market's existing solutions.
In addition I conducted researches with regard to applications that offer plants to purchase.

This app provides plant-care guides, that identify poisonous plants and gives watering remainders.

​Conclusions from my market research:

  • Most of the apps had a quick scanning process.

  • In most of the apps the purchase process was simple and clear.

  • Most of the apps used pictures and illustrations throughout the processes.

  • ​Some of the apps provide solutions to the plant's issues.

​User Study and Persona

To find my potential target-users, I conducted informal interviews with people aged 20-55 who grow one plant or more.

Top issues that came up during my interviews:

  • Sometimes the users tried to solve their plant’s issues, however the treatment and the solution were not correct.

  • Most of the users said that they use the internet to identify their plant’s issues and solutions which can be exhausting until they find the right treatment.

  • Most of the interviewees said that in most cases they buy a plant and then they don't have any guidance for growing their plant.

​This is the first time Aviv grows a plant.
​After a few days he noticed that his plant looks strange.
Aviv tried to understand the plant's issue, but couldn't find any helpful material.
Then Aviv decided to use Plantik's smart scanning system and received the right plant's diagnosis.
Plantik also provided Aviv the right solution to the plant's issue, making Aviv able the cure the plant.
